If you’re already using Windows 10 on your Mac be sure to download Boot Camp’s latest Windows support software. With an AMD cards you don't get any trouble, can boot with the eGPU plugged in, everything works including sleep.

I can't speak to latency for gaming, but it is really nice for my work conference calls.I have exact this macbook model (Early 13-inch 2015) and I have to say: Use an AMD card with it! This 'hotplug-at-the-exact-moment' is more than annoying. I was about to order the one with the antenna, but realized I already had the Jabra Link 370 adapter from a business headset I own, so used that with my Jabra Elite Active 75t's and it works great. They advertise their own "FastStream" technology - but that requires use of their headsets (they do have some true wireless earbuds, though unsure of quality). I'm not certain how well these would work with headsets outside of their own though. Avantree has one with an antenna (only supports audio), with another small one available for pre-order.

When I searched for BlueTooth 5.0 dongles. assuming your BT headset supports BT 5.0. Jabra allows for HD Voice over this adapter with any connected headset (doesn't have to be Jabra).īlueTooth 5.0 shouldn't be susceptible to this situation. Any ol' regular BlueTooth dongle will sadly default to mono, low quality sound in Windows as you've experienced. It also provides exceptional range of ~100ft. It is unlike a regular Bluetooth adapter in that it will provide high quality sound when using the microphones, so you can use it as a headset. If you want to use the microphones and use it as a true headset with Windows - I'd recommend buying the Jabra Link 370 USB Adapter ($75 USD, not cheap). That said, it'll ensure that your headphones show up as only one device, with quality stereo sound. This is a bit of a work-around and doesn't help you if you want to use it as a true headset in things like gaming voice chat, Skype/WebEx/etc.

  • You shouldn't need a restart after this, but worth doing if it doesn't work right away.
  • De-Select/Un-check Handsfree Telephony and hit Apply/OK.
  • Find your device and then Right click on your headset & choose Properties.
  • Devices and Printers ( far right-hand side).

If you only want to listen to audio, and not use it as a headset for communications software like Skype, or for voice chat in gaming, then you can disable the telephony services on the device which causes low quality audio: The 2nd option will let you use the microphone, but changes the audio quality to mono and low quality and also disconnects from other devices to be exclusive to Windows. Using the 1st, the sound is great as you'd find from your phone.

  • " Headset - AirPods HANDS FREE AUDIO" ( uses Hands Free Profile / HSP - mono, low bandwidth, low quality sound which allows the microphone to work).
  • " Headphones - AirPods STEREO" ( uses A2DP for high quality stereo sound).
  • It will setup two devices in Windows when you pair a bluetooth headset (whether AirPods, Jabra Elite, whatever. BT on Windows trips up switching between AD2P for that nice stereo sound and the hands-free profile for the mic. Windows is a bit weird with BlueTooth headsets.
